Well, 2020 is nearly over, and most of us won't miss it! It hasn't been as bad for us Kiwis as many of us probably feared — but I'm sure it's been worse than expected for many of you. But it’s time as every year to express our gratitude to the people who make it happen. Thank you first to our clients. Your support, friendship and patience are very much appreciated. We're painfully aware that the end of the year has been made difficult by supply chain and courier issues that will have impacted some of you. We're very grateful that you choose to make us part of your own and your To View More >>

You've seen Amanda King's By the Horns photographs in large format prints, but they look so dramatic in albums too! This is a 15x12 vertical Q-Book Medium with offset printing on Tintoretto to give that textured, watercolour look. The creamy, 'Eggshell' cover is a vegan-friendly micro leather, appropriate considering the subject matter. ( Amanda, who's based in Canterbury, New Zealand, says anybody who knows her will tell you of her love for animals. "If only I could keep them all as pets.") The sole purpose of our Favourites feature is to make your job as a photographer easier. Your clients select their favourite images by clicking the Workspace heart while hovering over an image. (On mobile you can reveal the Favourite button by tapping an image to view it full screen.) Your clients can review their Favourites by clicking the Heart icon at the top right of the screen. You can view them too, in the backend of Workspace, and use them, for example, to order prints, or other products you offer, or to design an album. To View More >>

The strap-line on Lancashire (UK) photographer Ian MacMichael’s website is “Stories Without Words”, which says it all. He can’t imagine his life without photography, although it wasn't until 2007 that he “finally had the confidence” to turn professional. But after nine years he’s clear about what he wants to capture in his photography, and his advice to newcomers. His advice to the 16-18 year-old photography students he teaches for a few hours a week is simple. Be yourself and don’t copy. Shoot what you want in a way that excites and inspires To View More >>

“A picture is worth a thousand words; A fine art print so much more.” - Steve Denby My daughter Alexandria has just returned from a trip through South East Asia. Stephen and I had been waiting impatiently at home for updates, occasionally getting a few photos on Facebook and Instagram — her way of checking in, letting us know that everything was okay. When she returned we could finally look through all her photographs. A computer filled with images, captured moments, potentially some of her favorite memories. It just didn’t feel right though. Justine Ungaro is conducting a Master Class at WPPI about the challenges of setting up business in a new market. We're proud to be sponsoring her. We all know that selling albums can make you more $$, but did you know that selling albums will also make you a better photographer? It’s a hard-learned lesson that took me years to figure out, so I will try to save you time by giving it to you straight! When I started out as a wedding photographer, I didn’t sell a whole lot of albums. I was intensely focused on improving my photography skill and developing my creativity. But as the To View More >>

Nichola and Sunhong wed at the Hermitage Hill in Wellington, rural New South Wales, Australia. It was a warm, intimate wedding with a distinctive 1920's vintage feel. Sheer Image Photography photographed their special day and has designed this lovely album for them. Nichola and Sunhong have chosen Tintoretto for their page stock - a textured, art stock that compliments their images perfectly. About the dress: "I think it had been sold to the vintage seller by a man and the dress had been his mother's wedding dress. The fabric was so delicate that it couldn't be dry cleaned and I To View More >>

We love seeing our clients coming up with innovative new marketing ideas. Andy Donnan received his new Queensberry Starter Kit and tweeted about an idea he had to show his out-of-town clients... And we asked him if we could share. Many of his clients won't get the opportunity to see or touch his albums, so he wanted to give them an up close and personal album viewing experience, but which they could have from anywhere in the world. I won't say too much more except check out how Andy introduces his Queensberry album offerings here (click on the image to play). Cheers, Nigel To View More >>
